HISTORY
Malmö is Sweden's third largest city and the capital of Skåne County. Grew up in the 13th century.
The city's German name was Elbogen (the elbow) which reflects the arch shape of the coast at Limhamn.
Malmö has an architectural landmark, Turning Torso (190m) and is one of Europe's tallest apartment blocks.
The city is multicultural with about 150 languages and 174 nationalities represented and is among Sweden's largest immigration cities, and has been the subject of international attention due to the demographic development.
MOBILITY
Malmö has a defined Traffic and Mobility Plan which is also part of Greater Copenhagen, a coherent transport system.
