National Tourist Road The Atlantic Road is a completely unique stretch of road that takes you all the way out into the ocean itself. In 2005, Atlanterhavsveien was named the building of the century in Norway, and is also referred to as the world's most beautiful car journey.

HISTORY
The Atlantic Road connects Averøy with the mainland over islands, islets and reefs by means of 8 bridges over a stretch of 8274 meters. The construction of the road was a big challenge. Road workers experienced as many as 12 hurricanes during the construction of the Atlantic Road before it was opened in 1989. The road is free to drive for everyone.
The Atlantic Road has the status of a national tourist road . The national tourist roads offer beautiful and varied rides and give you unique driving experiences.
This is a path that not only aims to get you there the fastest. The entire stretch between Bud and Kristiansund is a cohesive experience of the coast, culture and history.
